A field detachment of 20 specialists and 7 drilling rigs completed a set of prospecting and exploration works (topographic survey, drilling of exploratory wells with an exploration volume of more than 7,000 meters, ecological, hydrometeorological, archaeological works) on an area of about 1,000 ha within the licensed area of the Urengoy oil and gas condensate field (Yamalo-Nenets AO) during January-May, 2016. The works was carried out in difficult conditions (significant depletion of productive alluvial layers due to long-term exploitation of gas fields, unevenly development permafrost, law protection of areas with gas producing and transporting objects). Nevertheless, the requirements of the geological task were met: 12 deposits of sand and peat were defined and explored with total reserves of more than 30 million cb.m.
